I am writing to express my appreciation for the kindness of your Minnesota sales representative, Kathy Earley, who has demonstrated a level of customer service that is rare in today's bottom-line-oriented business environment.

Due to a mix-up on the website of Handi Medical Supply, located here in St. Paul,a product that I was interested in purchasing was listed at the wrong price, well below the actual cost of the item. Handi Medical and Kathy worked together to ensure that the price was honored, although this certainly meant that both Handi Medical and Hudson would take a loss on the purchase.

"URGENT - Letter to Congress - Exclude Adjustable Skin Protection Seat Cushions from Round 2 of Competitive Bidding"

CMS (Medicare) is gearing up to start round 2 of competitive bidding. This round of bidding will include 91 of the largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. (including St. Louis, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles) and it appears that they intend to include adjustable skin protection seat cushions (which includes high end seat cushions). If this happens we are sure that it will dramatically reduce user access to the goods and services that they need and may force them to pay for high quality cushions rather than depending on Medicare, Medicaid, and other 3rd party payers to cover the majority of the cost. Bottom line, this would be a terrible mistake and will lead to more wheelchair users using inferior products, and subsequently more incidences of skin breakdown.

TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! WE HAVE EVERY REASON TO BELIEVE THAT CMS WILL START ANNOUNCING THE RULE FOR ROUND 2 IN APRIL. ONCE THE RULES ARE ANNOUNCED GETTING CMS TO CHANGE IT'S MIND IS MUCH MORE DIFFICULT.
